Creative Directions

Creative Directions is an arts organization that has been working for over 25 years to teach, facilitate, and integrate the arts (with an emphasis on drama) in schools and communities throughout the United States. Since states have been including the arts as core subjects in the curriculum, Creative Directions has been providing professional and educational opportunities for teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and others to learn how to teach and incorporate the arts and drama in the curriculum and community.

Throughout our work with schools and districts nationwide, we have successfully trained teachers in implementing drama in their classrooms. In addition, we have assisted and supported teachers integrating all the arts into their curriculum to provide a deeper and richer learning experience for students. Because of the success of our work, we have formed both short and long-term partnerships with teachers and schools to further develop and incorporate the arts into specific subject areas, into the curriculum as a whole, and into the school-wide population.

Creative Directions offers a variety of programming opportunities and support materials for every staff and school community. Some of our many arts education programs include:

    * Professional staff training

    * Curriculum development

    * Assessment development

    * After-school programming

    * Parent workshops

    * Partnership planning between and among schools and community arts organizations

    * Artist training and professional development
